INDEPENDENT STUDY DEALING WITH POSITIVE SOLUTION USING GENERALLY NEGATIVE DEFINED SITUATIONS

The purpose of this independent study was to look at the four elements: AIR, FIRE, EARTH, and WATER, as solutions instead of problems. When we generally consider these things from a design standpoint we are looking to keep them far away from our architecture. This study looks at using creative writing, model photography, graphic editing and presentation as a way to build scenarios where these “disastrous” things can be used in a positive way. I worked with all of these materials like they were a peice of any other model I would be working on. The stories are written to give some context as to why these things needed to be used, how they are being used, and why it works. The stories are somewhat science fiction dealing with the elements in a different light. The model photography is what most captures the project, a picture is worth a thousand words. Each of the boards are make to be one cohesive presentation of that elements strength.
